Project PlatoAR aims to interactively teach math and science - via memorable experiences.

The PlatoAR platform is developed in the spirit of Plato’s Academy: “Let all who know Geometry enter.” As seen in the burgeoning fields of computer science and engineering, profound knowledge of mathematics can help open doors - beyond social-economic class strictures. The hope is that in teaching math in a meaningful way to children, it may evolve into a universal language for the future to be built.

Designed by a physicist who has been working in the computer graphics and mobile game development field for the past 7 years, the apps will also be a showcase of the awesomeness of the appropriate use of 3D augmented reality and virtual reality technologies.

The app series will start with modules that meet the standards for Common Core 8 Geometry — and have already been tested in public middle schools! This initial segment was made possible due to a generous grant from the Verizon Foundation and GAFFTA.
